Estate Planning
If you need to prepare a plan for the distribution of your assets at death or if your life situation has changed and you need to review and/or modify an existing estate plan, I can help. I will help you understand the different estate planning tools and techniques, so that you can make an informed decision that meets your objectives. I will then prepare the necessary documents, including wills and trust documents, to establish and implement your estate plan. I can also help you plan for incapacity by preparing durable powers of attorney and living wills.
Probate, Trust and Estate Administration
If you have been designated as the executor, trustee or other representative of the estate of a loved one, I will provide guidance and counseling to minimize your frustration and help you successfully take the estate through the probate process. I will prepare all documents that need to be filed with the probate court and will help you follow the necessary steps to ensure that all debts and obligations of the estate are satisfied and that the assets of the estate are distributed in accordance with the decedent's wishes.
Medicaid and Long-Term Care Planning
I develop personalized plans that help clients manage personal and financial resources as they or their loved ones age, so that their net worth is not lost to nursing home or other long term care. I help clients explore home-based care options as the first option, when appropriate, and work to ease the transition, if a facility placement is required.
Estate Planning Services for Veterans
I have experience helping veterans with estate planning and long-term care planning. There are special programs that apply to veterans, such as the Aid and Attendance Benefit Program. I can help you understand the unique benefits available to you.
Guardianships
I can advise you regarding legal guardianship proceedings for a loved one, in the event that there is no advance written directive and that your loved one cannot manage his or her affairs.
